Arches-Eyebrow Arches-Circle Windows, oh my!
Arched windows on the front of a home are gorgeous to look at! Some builders love to use as many different shaped windows in a houseplan as they can which adds to the ambience of the home. Combine odd shapes with windows also being in a bay window area, a curved wall or a box window, and the stage has been preset for custom window treatments!
Unusually shaped window treatments are extremely detailed, especially if they are to be mounted inside the window instead of on the outside edge. A paper template has to be made, the window thoroughly measured down to the 1/8", and the correct style chosen to compliment the unusual window and make it a desirable design element in the home.
Shutters, cellular shades and fitted draperies are great choices for an inside mount treatment. Wood blinds do have arch shapes now, but the fit isn't ideal design wise. Custom top treatments, fabricated with an arch, eyebrow arch or even an octagonal shape bring the shape of the window into a completely different design element than just a cellular shade with an inside mount.
A professional workroom like we use at Star Furniture Custom Draperies can fabricate a beautiful compliment to shaped windows and our drapery installers know exactly where to install them for the most impact.

Why Custom Window Treatments?
Why choose custom window treatments? There are many reasons!
Individuality is at the top of the list. When custom window treatments are used in a home, it has an individual, well-designed appearance. A person who thinks for themself and likes to be different doesn't want their home to look like the neighbor's home down the street. This person wants their home to represent their individual likes and dislikes--a custom look designed just for them.
Personality and lifestyle is another reason to use custom window treatments. An outgoing, gregarious client who has many friends and lots of parties would like a home design that was upbeat, definitely up to date--the cutting edge in style and products used. But their home would need easy upkeep, so a simple but sophisticated design would be a great suggestion for them. Custom window treatments might be solar, automated roller shades or cellular shades with a remote control. Of course draperies in linen or soft open weave sheers...well, the list goes on and on. Young couples with traditional personalities (and children) would tend to be more subdued, using calm, neutral colors and fabrics. A transitional styled home would we a wonderful choice for their lifestyle, with window treatments using wood shutters, wood blinds and side panel draperies to frame the window. It goes without saying that a formal multi million dollar home would definitely need custom window treatments--for esthetics as well as practicality due to different shaped windows.
Correct Size/Appropriate Choice are two very important reasons to choose custom treatments.
Perfect Color/Style/Design of Fabrics are not the last reasons to choose to have custom treatments. With literally hundreds of styles and designs of fabrics, and hundreds of colors, a custom choice is definitely the right one.
